ScriptCam

ScriptCam recording on iPhone: the teleprompter under the camera reads video, I would lose my place in the script, with the words already said faded, the word lose highlighted in yellow, Listening at the bottom and the timer at 0:12. The presenter is an AI-generated stand-in.

Teleprompter and camera for iPhone and iPad

Paste your script, hit record and just talk. ScriptCam follows your voice and keeps the next line right under the camera, so your eyes stay on the lens.

Step 1 of 4, follow

Just talk. It follows.

Read your script out loud and ScriptCam scrolls it for you. Words you’ve said fade back, the word you’re on lights up, and the next line waits right under the camera.

The script on the teleprompter, “Product launch intro”:

Hey everyone, today I want to show you something we have been building for the last six months.

It started with a simple problem: every time I sat down to record a video, I would lose my place in the script, look away from the camera, and have to start over.

So we built ScriptCam. You paste your script, hit record, and it follows along as you talk. The words you have said fade back, and the next line always sits right under the camera.

Let me show you how it works.

ScriptCam’s own demo script, read at an even pace for illustration. The person on the screen is an AI-generated stand-in for your camera.

Step 2 of 4, ad-libs and skips

Go off script. It keeps your place.

Ad-lib a line and the script waits for you. Skip a sentence and it catches up, but it never leaps across the script, and it goes back if you re-read a line.

  1. …and have to start over.On script, it follows
  2. Honestly, it drove me nuts.Ad-lib, the script waits
  3. You paste your script…4 words skipped, it catches up

Skip Tolerance, how far it follows a skip

  • Strict14 words
  • Balanced40 words
  • Loose90 words

The ad-lib and the skip are simulated for illustration. Balanced is the default. Misheard words, fillers like um and uh, and numbers said as words don’t throw it either.

Step 3 of 4, takes

Flub a line? Redo just that part.

Record in takes. After each one, watch it back and tap Keep or Discard. Discard rewinds the script to where that take began, so you can go again straight away.

Step 4 of 4, one video

Every take, one video.

Kept takes stack up. Reorder them or delete the ones you don’t want, then tap Save, and ScriptCam stitches them into one video in Photos, ready to post.

  2. Take 20:14

The app’s Save Video and Saved to Photos screens, with its four demo takes. No subscription and no in-app purchases.

Made for talking to camera

YouTube videos, course lessons, product demos, a recipe reel or a wedding toast: write it once, then read it straight down the lens.

Follows your voice

Speech recognition tracks where you are and scrolls as you read aloud. Tap a word to jump there, or drag to take over and it picks up following again.

Three ways to scroll

Follow Voice is the default. Steady Scroll moves at a fixed pace you set, 140 words a minute to start, and Manual lets you scroll by hand. Both work without speech recognition.

Never lose a take

Takes you haven’t saved stay on your phone, even if the app closes, and the script library shows how many are waiting.

Your camera, your way

Front or back camera, 1080p or up to 4K, 30 or 60 fps, a mirrored front camera and a countdown. If a camera can’t do what you picked, it steps down to 1080p.

Ready for a teleprompter rig

Mirror the text for a beam-splitter teleprompter. Set the text size and the highlight color: Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink or Orange.

A script library, on iPhone and iPad

Write or paste scripts into a searchable library that shows each one’s word count and read time. On iPad the list sits beside the editor, in any orientation.

Private by default

No accounts, ads or analytics. Speech is recognized on your device when your language supports it; otherwise Apple’s speech recognition service transcribes it. ScriptCam never stores or uploads that audio.

Read your lines while you record.
